Dual Enrollment African American Literature
Course Description:
African-American Literature is an interdisciplinary course designed to study and understand the experiences of African and African-descended people through the lenses of literature. During this course, students will develop literary analysis skills as they examine poetry, music, speeches, essays, and novels to explore topics that range from the early African kingdoms to the ongoing challenges and achievements of the contemporary moment. Because this course is the equivalent of a university course in African-American studies, students will be expected to read at a college level, analyze and evaluate text sources, and clearly express themselves through their writing.
